When several chatters work on the same creator, it’s easy for two people to reply to the same fan while other fans wait.

With Multiple Inboxes, BuddyX divides a creator’s fans evenly across up to 4 inboxes, so each chatter can take one inbox and work through it on their own.

How It Works

• Every fan is automatically assigned to one inbox, including new fans.
• Each inbox has its own color, and chats in the BuddyX App show that color on their left edge, so you can see at a glance which inbox a fan belongs to.
• The setup applies to everyone on your team who works on that creator.

Set Up Multiple Inboxes in the Dashboard

• Go to Multiple Inboxes in the BuddyX Dashboard.
• Find the creator and turn the On/Off switch on.
• Use the + and − buttons to choose how many inboxes you want, from 2 to 4.
• Click the pencil icon next to the inbox names to give each inbox a name, such as “Morning shift” or “Inbox Anna”.

Need a fresh start? Click the Reshuffle fans icon next to the number of inboxes. All fans are spread across the inboxes again, any manual moves are discarded, and your chatters see the new split right away.

The Activity column shows how many fans have been moved by hand and when the fans were last reshuffled.

Choose Your Inbox in the BuddyX App

• Open the Chat Tab of the creator.
• Click the inbox selector above the chat list (it shows All inboxes by default).
• Tick the inbox, or inboxes, you want to work on. Choose All inboxes to see every chat again.

Team members with permission can also click the gear icon next to the inbox selector to turn Multiple Inboxes on or off and change the number of inboxes, without leaving the app.

Move a Fan to Another Inbox

Sometimes a fan should be handled by a different chatter.

• Click the three dots on the fan’s chat.
• Under Move to inbox, choose the inbox the fan should go to.

The fan stays in that inbox until the fans are reshuffled.

Who Can Manage Multiple Inboxes

As the account owner, you can always manage Multiple Inboxes.

To let a team member manage them too, give their role the Multiple Inboxes - Can change inbox settings and move fans between inboxes permission, which you’ll find under BuddyX Dashboard Permissions when creating or editing a role. Learn more about Roles & Permissions.

Team members with this permission can:

• See the Multiple Inboxes page in the dashboard and change its settings.
• Use the gear icon in the BuddyX App to change inbox settings.
• Move fans between inboxes.

Team members without it can still choose which inboxes they see in the BuddyX App.
