This feature is designed to streamline the process of sharing your link performance data with marketing partners or affiliates. By simply inviting an affiliate to your dashboard and selecting the specific links you wish to share, they too will be able to view the updated data for these links on their own dashboard.
How do I use the feature?
Getting started with this feature is easy! First, head over to your dashboard and open the side menu. Look for 'Affiliates' located just below 'Tracking Links'. And then here’s how you can invite affiliates and share data:
- Invite Affiliates: Simply add the names and emails of the affiliates you wish to invite.
- Select Links to Share: Choose the specific links whose data you want to share with your affiliates.
- Customize Data Sharing: For each link, you’ll have the option to select which data columns to share. If you prefer the same settings across all links, use the 'Apply to all Links' button. Otherwise, you can choose the shared columns for each link individually.
- Send the Invitation: Once you click on 'Invite,' your affiliates will receive an email to join as an Affiliate on the BuddyX Dashboard. If they're new to BuddyX, the email will include a link to set up their affiliate account. Once logged in, they’ll have access to the shared link data.
Alternatively, you can share link data directly from the Free Trial (FTL) / Tracking Link (TL) tables. Just click on the three dots in the actions column next to a specific link and select the affiliate you wish to share it with.
What Data Will Your Affiliates Have Access To?
When it comes to shared data, your affiliates' visibility is limited to exactly what you choose to share with them. This means they'll only be able to see the specific columns you've selected. Importantly, for any columns related to revenue, they will see just the dollar amounts. Details like the number of fans contributing to these revenues and their names, which you can view by clicking on the fan numbers, will not be visible to them.
This selective sharing ensures that while your affiliates receive valuable insights for collaboration, sensitive information about your fans remains confidential and secure.
Please note: If while inviting an affiliate, you see the error 'Email is already in use for BuddyX Dashboard. Please try another email.', it's because your affiliate is using BuddyX Dashboard PRO features. Please use another email which has not been used for BuddyX before.
Managing and Editing Affiliate Permissions
Deactivating an Affiliate:
- Go to the Affiliates page on your dashboard.
- Click on the three dots in the Action column next to the affiliate you wish to deactivate.
- Select 'Deactivate'. Don't worry, you can reactivate them at any time.
Editing Permissions for a Link:
You have two ways to edit permissions for a link shared with an affiliate:
From the Affiliate Table:
- Navigate to 'Actions' -> 'Edit' in the Affiliate table.
- Choose the link you wish to edit or remove from sharing.
From the Link Tracking Page:
- Go to the Link Tracking page and find the link you want to edit.
- Click on the three dots, then select 'Share'.
- Here, you'll have the option to remove or edit the affiliate's access to that link.
